Ever since the kids started calling Alex “Dad” did they start thinking about getting married, but it was only when the children insisted on it that they agreed to set a date.
With the children in charge of organising, they decided on the venue for the wedding and reception.
Alex did the honour of asking Jacob to be his Best Man. Naturally, Genevieve would be Maid of Honour.
Jacob, 10, and Genevieve, 9, decided that they would plan the day, chose the venue and even pick the wedding photographer.

Hythe Town Hall Ceremony
Although they live in Maidstone, Jacob and Genevieve decided on Hythe Town Hall for the wedding ceremony because they love the chip shop next door.
Jacob wanted to wear a kilt for the day after he saw another wedding party wearing them.
Genevieve helped mum pick out the dress as well as her own for her cousin as bridesmaids.
They also insisted on a Rolls Royce for mum and a Mercedes for dad.
Rocksalt Restaurant Reception
Jacob and Genevieve love Folkstone and the Rocksalt is their favourite restaurant and would be a great choice for photos as it overlooks the harbour. They asked if it was possible to hold the reception there and the manager agreed, so fish dinner would be the evening meal. Genevieve may only be nine years old, but her speech went down a storm.

Even hard working wedding planners need to let off some steam. With a helpful uncle to play pirate, the kids ran about on the Rocksalt terrace.

Jacob and Genevieve managed to persuade Grandma to make the cake, on the logic that hers are the best. She happily obliged.

As the sun set over the English Channel, the lights of Folkstone Harbour glitter on the water making a beautiful backdrop for romantic wedding photos. Rocksalt Restaurant has a raised patio, covered with pebbles which makes the perfect spot to capture the beauty of the scene.
Philippa & Alex had a wonderful day with family and friends and this was their moment together as a newly married couple.
Jacob and Genevieve finally got their mum and dad to be husband and wife. They said that they enjoyed organising the wedding, but plan to finish school before organising any more.
