Why Choose a Celebrant for Your Kent Wedding?

The real question is WHY NOT?

Working with a wedding celebrant means your ceremony is completely personal. Every ceremony is written from scratch and that means it’s all all about YOU and sharing your love story with your guests. We’ll work together every step of the way to make sure your ceremony reflects you as a couple and is everything you want. Couples spend so much time and effort making their theme / favours / table plans personal so why not the ceremony as well? After all, it’s the main event!

As for the legalities, most couples choose to do this a few days before their wedding but if you prefer this can be done afterwards. You simply need to book an appointment to register your marriage in front of a registrar and two witnesses (this usually costs around £50 but check with your local authority). You can still sign a certificate as part of your wedding ceremony and you can include and many family and friends as you like in this.

When you choose a celebrant, from the moment you book, you are the priority. You may be feeling nervous on your wedding day and hopefully I can help ease some of those nerves. In the build up to your wedding I spend lots of time getting to know you as a couple and this means by your wedding day, I’ll be a familiar face waiting for you at the end of the aisle instead of somebody you’ve only just met. We’ll have spent the months / years before your wedding creating your perfect ceremony and on your big day you’ll know exactly what to expect.

I take great pride in my ceremonies and there’s nothing like seeing my couple’s faces on their wedding day while they celebrate their love for one another in front of their loved ones.

Your ceremony should be the party starter! Not the ‘boring bit’ you have to do before the drinks reception. Let’s give you a wedding ceremony to remember! A ceremony that leaves your guests smiling, crying, laughing and cheering!

There are so many things you can do to make your ceremony a bit different and personal to you. You may choose to write your own vows, include your children or your dog in your bridal party or even get your guests joining in with a sing-along! You can choose personal readings, perhaps a favourite poem, or a quote from a film or book. There are also special elements you can include; such as a unity candle, a gin box or wine ceremony, or you might decide to really get the party started with a round of Sambuca… ‘We’ve tied the knot so take a shot!’. Wherever your imagination takes you, I’m here to help and guide you with all the things that will make your perfect ceremony.

With a celebrant, you can have your wedding ANYWHERE you like. With so many beautiful locations in Kent, you really are spoilt for choice! Perhaps you’d choose a meadow in the middle of the Kent downs? Or a ceremony on one of the gorgeous Kentish beaches? Maybe you’d prefer an intimate ceremony tucked away in the woods or perhaps the exact spot that you got engaged? You might have fallen in love with a venue but it doesn’t have a license or maybe your ideal ceremony spot isn’t licensed for ceremonies? With a celebrant it doesn’t matter because you’ve already registered your marriage before the wedding day, so you are free to have your ceremony wherever you like!

You can also have your wedding whenever you like. You don’t need to choose a specific ‘time slot’ and I only ever take one wedding per day so when you’ve reserved your date, I’m yours! I won’t rush off to get to another booking (which also means I get to stay behind and find out how much your guests LOVED your ceremony!). You might want to have your wedding at the crack of dawn and watch the sunrise over the sea, right in the middle of the day or even at sunset. It’s really is your choice.
